Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the AstraSense platform, website, and associated services. Please read them carefully before using our services.

Overview

AstraSense (“AstraSense”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides geospatial intelligence, Earth observation analytics, and related platform services. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”) and AstraSense governing your use of our website, platform, APIs, and any associated services (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using our Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not access or use our Services.

These Terms apply to all visitors to astrasense.space, registered platform users, API consumers, and institutional clients accessing AstraSense services under a separate agreement.

Acceptance of Terms

Your access to and use of the Services constitutes your acceptance of these Terms. If you are accessing the Services on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

  • You must be at least 18 years of age or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction to use our Services.
  • Institutional users must have a valid, executed Master Services Agreement or equivalent contract with AstraSense.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering for or using our Services.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • AstraSense reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice.

Services & Access

AstraSense grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services strictly in accordance with these Terms and any applicable service-level agreement.

Access credentials are personal and non-transferable. Sharing credentials with third parties is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account suspension.

Usage Restrictions

You agree not to use the Services in any manner that is unlawful, harmful, or contrary to these Terms. The following activities are expressly prohibited:

Unlawful use

Using the Services for any purpose that violates applicable local, national, or international law or regulation, including export control laws and sanctions regimes.

Reverse engineering

Decompiling, disassembling, reverse engineering, or attempting to derive source code, algorithms, or trade secrets from the platform or its outputs.

Unauthorised access

Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Services, other user accounts, or AstraSense's internal systems or infrastructure.

Data scraping

Using automated tools, bots, crawlers, or scripts to extract, scrape, or harvest data from the platform beyond what is expressly permitted by your licence tier.

Harmful content

Uploading, transmitting, or distributing malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to systems.

Misrepresentation

Impersonating AstraSense, its personnel, or any other person or entity, or falsely representing your affiliation with any organisation.

Prohibited sectors

Using the Services to support activities in sectors prohibited under applicable sanctions or export control regulations without prior written authorisation.

AstraSense reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action — including account suspension, termination, and referral to law enforcement — against any user who violates these restrictions.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Services, platform, software, data products, documentation, and associated materials are owned by or licensed to AstraSense. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you.

Platform software

Proprietary to AstraSense. No licence to copy, modify, or distribute.

Derived analytics

Outputs generated by the platform remain subject to AstraSense IP unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Your data

You retain ownership of data you upload. You grant AstraSense a limited licence to process it to deliver the Services.

Trademarks

AstraSense name, logo, and marks may not be used without prior written consent.

Feedback

Any feedback or suggestions you provide may be used by AstraSense without restriction or compensation.

Open-source components

Certain components are licensed under open-source licences. Details available on request.

Liability & Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AstraSense provides the Services on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

DisclaimerScope
AccuracyAstraSense does not warrant that platform outputs, analytics, or data products are error-free, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.
AvailabilityUninterrupted or error-free access to the Services is not guaranteed. Scheduled and emergency maintenance may cause downtime.
Third-party dataThe Services may incorporate third-party data sources. AstraSense is not liable for the accuracy or completeness of such data.
Consequential lossAstraSense shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Services.
Liability cap: To the extent permitted by law, AstraSense's total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 500.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AstraSense, its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law or regulation.
  • Your use of the Services in a manner not expressly authorised by these Terms.
  • Any content or data you upload, submit, or transmit through the Services.
  • Your infringement of any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
  • Any misrepresentation made by you in connection with your use of the Services.

AstraSense reserves the right to assume exclusive control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defence of such claims.

Termination

Either party may terminate access to the Services in accordance with the following provisions:

Termination by you

You may close your account at any time by contacting support@astrasense.space. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any prepaid fees unless otherwise required by law.

Termination by AstraSense

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately and without notice if you breach these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if continued access poses a security or legal risk.

Effect of termination

Upon termination, your licence to use the Services ceases immediately. Provisions relating to IP, liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.

Data following termination

We will retain your data for 30 days post-termination to allow export, after which it will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Compliance & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international law. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, where necessary, binding arbitration under internationally recognised rules.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable international law and the principles of good faith and fair dealing.

Export controls

Use of the Services is subject to applicable international export control and sanctions laws.

Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable MSA, constitute the entire agreement between the parties.

Waiver

Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it in the future.

Force majeure

AstraSense is not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

These Terms are reviewed annually and updated to reflect changes in applicable law or our services. Continued use of the Services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
